Homages Pour In for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Remain Under Wraps.

More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the couple.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt ready to share openly about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can at last express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started spending more time together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, remarking that he cannot recall "one day without joy".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a distinct tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate put a embargo on the files to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the result of foul play, with a official listing listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Response and Criticism

After the killings, public individuals shared different responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering divisive remarks that were met with immediate backlash by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the those speaking out recently. Talking on his podcast, Rogan described the statements as "disappointing" and suggested they showed a concerning lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by proposing that an adviser should have acted when the choice to speak on the tragedy was made.
