British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world offered sympathy for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
