One-Punch Man Its Third Season Is Moving Forward (Come 2027)

Truly the most surprising revelation, the notorious disaster that was the third season of One-Punch Man failed to halt further production. Season 3 will be back with a subsequent part in 2027—a date so remote they might as well have dubbed it season 4. Adding to the surprise, animation studio J.C. Staff will still be in charge. At least this time, director Shinpei Nagai is on board to direct from the start, which is seen as a positive development. Yet, the main art for the second cour is identical to the one used for season 3, just with protagonists Saitama and Garou oriented differently. This leads one to believe that, nowadays, they could be teasing the fans.

Ruri Dragon Is Set to Be the First Shonen Jump Anime Produced By Kyoto Animation

Kyoto Animation has established a reputation for being an prestigious animation studio, distinguishing itself not just for the exceptional quality of its work but for the ethical practices of its employees—a sadly unusual standard in the industry. Unexpectedly, until now, it had never worked on an anime adapted from a manga serialized in Shonen Jump, possibly the most iconic magazine in the industry. Ruri Dragon will change that, and what a great choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo became massive popularity when it first appeared in 2022 after just a small number of issues, but then went into a lengthy break due to the mangaka's health issues. When it returned with a reduced workload, the series showed it still retained the fans' appreciation and goodwill, and now fans are ecstatic about the impending KyoAni adaptation.

As it happens that was just the initial batch, because a "sequel" has been announced as in production, and it will very likely debut in 2026.

Another studio known for the excellent quality of its productions, Science Saru has brought us critically acclaimed works of the caliber of Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, and, more recently, Dandadan. This time, the studio will be producing the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, inspired by the real historical figure of Fatima, an influential woman and thinker in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. From the trailer, the anime titled Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a highly unique and fascinating visual style, which is somewhat reminiscent of Ranking of Kings. Debuting in July 2026, this one will absolutely be on my list of anticipated shows.
